New Daily COVID-19 Cases Reported for Delaware County Is 732 Between Friday and Tuesday

No new COVID-19-related death were reported in Delaware County for Tuesday, April 20, according to the Chester County Health Department.

As of Tuesday, the health department was reporting a total of 1,365 COVID-19-related deaths in Delaware County.

Of those, 825 were in long-term care facilities and personal care homes, according to the latest statistics from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 46 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

The health department also reported there have been 732 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported between Friday, April 16 and Tuesday, April 20.  Total cases, as of April 16, are.45,415.

Prospect Park continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. Total cases are 721, affecting 11.10 percent of its 6,492 population.

Upper Darby has the most total cases, with 6,720 cases reported, or 8.10 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 949 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 228,886 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 87.63 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups, as reported Tuesday, April 20, are:

  • Under 10: 2,121 cases
  • 10 to 19: 5,261 cases
  • 20 to 29: 7,639 cases
  • 30 to 39: 6,690 cases
  • 40 to 49: 6.139 cases
  • 50 to 59: 6,946 cases
  • 60 to 69: 5,348 cases
  • 70 to 79: 2,658 cases
  • 80 and over: 2,608 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, April 20, there were 4,571 new cases of COVID-19 statewide. Total cases now number 1,113,868.

The state is reporting 79 additional COVID-19 deaths for April 20. The statewide death toll is 25767.
