It’s a vision shared by C&N team members and speaks to the aspirational sentiment they strive to hear from their customers.

Formerly known as Citizens & Northern Bank, C&N is based in Wellsboro, in Tioga County, and has a long, proud history that dates back to 1864. Throughout the last 150-plus years, it has evolved as a strong, full-service financial institution with offices located in almost a dozen counties across Pennsylvania and New York.

In 2019, C&N grew its presence in southeastern Pennsylvania when it acquired Monument Bank with offices in Doylestown and Newtown. Shortly thereafter, Covenant Bank was brought into the fold, adding another office in Doylestown and one in Paoli.

“Covenant and Monument had deep roots in Southeastern Pennsylvania, and the relationship-based, community-focused culture these teams built aligned well with C&N’s mission and values,” said Blair Rush, C&N’s Executive Vice President and Southeast Region President. “We are excited about what the future holds and continue to expand our C&N Team serving the market.”

The company’s commitment to the communities it serves may be illustrated best through its “Giving Back, Giving Together” program. A fundraising campaign formed in March 2015 with the purpose of supporting a different cause each year, “Giving Back, Giving Together” is an employee-driven effort that has a positive and lasting impact on local communities. Since its inception, C&N’s teams have raised more than $415,500 in monetary donations, collected over 30,000 item donations, and volunteered over 1,000 hours.

Also, through the Paycheck Protection Program, C&N has continued to play a critical role in saving the paychecks of more than 23,000 workers through more than $238 million in loans to approximately 2,166 small businesses.
