New Cases of COVID-19 Dropped Significantly in Delaware County Over the Weekend, to Only 44

Delaware County saw a significant one-day drop in COVID-19 cases from Friday to Saturday..

On Friday, Nov. 6, the Chester County Health Department reported 164 new cases in Delaware County, for a total of 14,604.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, the Pennsylvania Department of Health reported an increase of only 44 cases, to a new total of 14,648.

No statistics were available for Sunday, Nov. 8.

The Chester County Health Department reported 823 COVID-19 related deaths for Delaware County as of Friday, Nov. 6.

Updated death tolls for the county were not available for Saturday or Sunday.

Of those total deaths reported, 628 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

A breakdown of statistics by municipality was unavailable over the weekend.

Statewide, there were 6,944 new positive cases of COVID-19 reported noon on Nov. 8 as compared to Friday, Nov. 6.

Pennsylvania is now listing a total of 230,894 cases.

There were 45 new deaths reported statewide as of noon, Nov. 8, compared to Friday, Nov. 6, with total deaths listed at 9,020, according to the  Pennsylvania Department of Health.

Statewide, 2,441,635 people have tested negative for the virus.
