New COVID-19 Cases Ease Up Slightly in Delaware County But Remain Above 100

New COVID-19 cases in Delaware County settled lower for Thursday, but remained high overall, at 105, according to the Chester County Health Department.

Thankfully, no additional COVID-19-related deaths were reported in the county for Thursday, with totals remaining at 813.

Of those, 620 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have been reported in 40 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus, with three new cases reported since Wednesday. Total cases are 578, or 5.04 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, with 2,090 cases reported, or 2.52 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

There are 323 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 130, 836 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting an 79.95 percent recovery rate.

  • Under 10: 281 cases (up 3)
  • 10 to 19: 1,138 cases (up 10)
  • 20 to 29: 2,505 cases (up 14)
  • 30 to 39: 1,887 cases (up 20)
  • 40 to 49: 1,817 cases (up 23)
  • 50 to 59: 2,069 cases (up 16)
  • 60 to 69: 1,624 cases (up 11)
  • 70 to 79: 957 cases (up 7)
  • 80 and over: 1,333 cases (up 1)

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Oct. 29, that there were 2,202 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 202,876.

There were 66 new deaths reported statewide for
Thursday, Oct. 29, with total deaths listed at 8762.
