Linvilla Makes List of Top Orchards in America
Linvilla Orchards has been a favorite fall destination for Delaware County families for years. Now, The Daily Meal has placed it on a list of 50 as one of the nation’s best apple orchards, writes Michael Tanenbaum for phillyvoice.com.
The publication looked at online ratings to find the top orchard in each state.
Linvilla Orchards is a 300-acre family farm in Middletown Township.
Besides the opportunity to pick seasonal fruit off the trees, Linvilla also grows sweet peppers, tomatoes and corn.
If getting out into the orchards isn’t your thing, farm products are also available in the farm market along with pies and other baked goods. For flowers, plants and gardening materials, visit the garden center.
Local families flock there in the fall for its Halloween attractions, including a timed ticket hayride and corn maze.
Best time to avoid crowds is on a weekday. Masks and social distancing are required.
Linvilla joined three other Pennsylvania orchards on the national list.
Highland Orchards is a 200-acre farm outside West Chester. Also listed was Brown’s Orchards and Farm Markets in Loganville, York County and Soergel Orchards in Wexford, Allegheny County.
