70 New COVID-19 Cases in Delaware County, No New Deaths Reported

There were 70 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Tuesday, Aug. 11, bringing the total number of cases to 9,392.

No additional COVID-19 deaths were reported, with the total in the county remaining at 746.

Of those, 591 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 39 of the county’s 49 municipalities.

Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 485 cases, affecting 4.23 percent of its 11,471 population.

Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,508, affecting 1.82 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The following are the number of reported cases of COVID-19 in Delaware County, listed by municipality in descending order of caseload, indicating which communities saw an increase in cases since Monday, Aug. 10, the last date these statistics were reported.

There are 292 cases still under investigation, to which no municipality has yet been assigned.

The county has had 13,300  people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 75.46 percent recovery rate.

Cases broken down by age groups as of Aug. 10 are:

  • Under 10: 6 cases
  • 10 to 19: 497 cases (up 13)
  • 20 to 29: 1,500 cases
  • 30 to 39: 1,300 cases
  • 40 to 49: 1,200 cases
  • 50 to 59: 1,500 cases
  • 60 to 69: 1,200 cases
  • 70 to 79: 763 cases (up 2)
  • 80 and over: 1,200 cases

Pennsylvania data

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Aug. 11, that there were 828  new cases of COVID-19 across the state since Monday, Aug. 10, bringing the statewide total to 120,281.

There were 40 additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the state total to 7,352.
