There were 48 additional cases of COVID-19 reported in Delaware County for Friday, Aug. 7, by the Chester County Health Department, bringing the total number of cases to 9,171.
Two additional COVID-19 deaths were reported, with the total in the county now at 744.
Of those, 589 were in long term care facilities and personal care homes, according to data from the Chester County Health Department.

COVID-19 fatalities have now been reported in 39 of the county’s 49 municipalities.
Yeadon Borough continues to have the highest percentage of population being affected by the virus. It has 482 cases, affecting 4.2 percent of its 11,471 population.
Upper Darby has the most cases reported, at 1,479, affecting 1.78 percent of Upper Darby’s 82,993 population.

The county has had 65,510 people test negative for the virus. The health department is reporting a 75.46 percent recovery rate.

- 10 to 19: 453 cases (up 8)
- 20 to 29: 1,400 cases
- 30 to 39: 1,300 cases
- 40 to 49: 1,200 cases

- 70 to 79: 757 cases (up 2)
- 80 and over: 1,200 cases

The Pennsylvania Department of Health confirmed as of noon, Aug. 7, that there were 768 new cases of COVID-19 across the state, bringing the statewide total to 117,279.
There were 15 additional COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the state total to 7,297.
