Reducing the spread of coronavirus on a school bus is one of a long list of school reopening issues, writes Mark Scolforo for middletownpress.com.

“Everyone is looking at this very differently. And they all are looking at the science of it. They’re looking at what’s going to work in their district. But there is no single answer to the question,” said Mike Berk with the Pennsylvania School Bus Association.

The state has OK’d in-person instruction, once COVID-19 mitigation plans are approved by local school boards.

Ridley’s School Board already approved a full in-person reopening on Sept. 1.

Upper Darby presents its plan tonight, July 14, at 7:30 p.m.

Interboro receives its plan July 14 or 15.

Wallingord-Swarthmore’s plan will be submitted July 20, Haverford’s on July 23, Rose Tree-Media, July 25; Springfield and William Penn July 27, Chichester and Garnet Valley July 28 and Penn-Delco’s in late July or early August, according to a Daily Times article.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is finalizing its plans but will open in September.

That could mean full in-person instruction, a hybrid of in-person and remote learning or all remote, depending on a community’s feelings about the virus situation.
