The shopping experience at King of Prussia Mall will most likely be significantly different once the shopping mecca reopens its doors, writes Natalie Kostelni for the WHYY.

While there has been no date set for the reopening yet, once owner Simon Property Group decides to reopen the mall there will be a series of safety protocols that will have to be followed by its employees.

These will include Simon employees, contractors, and vendors wearing face masks and practicing social distancing, as well as being required to take their temperature before entering the mall.

“Additionally, those exposed to COVID-19 will be required to quarantine at home until they are symptom-free for at least 72 hours and satisfy other CDC requirements prior to returning to work,” said Simon.

Retailers and shoppers will also be encouraged to adhere to similar measures voluntarily to help ensure coronavirus does not spread further.

It can also be expected that shopper behavior will change. People may not feel comfortable trying on clothes that were previously tried on by somebody else. They could also limit their shopping amid the current higher unemployment.
