The coronavirus took a Delaware County man on a six-week medical journey that included time in the ICUs at two hospitals and a stay at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Hospital, reports Ashley Johnson for 6abc.com.

Brian Robinson was transferred to Bryn Mawr Rehab after losing bone mass while fighting COVID-19. He received intensive physical therapy and dialysis.

On Tuesday, Robinson walked out of the rehabilitation center and was reunited with his family, including his seven children.

“My family came here, my grand-kids are here, my children are here, that’s the best part to see them all. I want to hug them all and kiss them all but we still have to maintain social distancing,” Robinson said.”Everything out here means the world to me and it was a weird experience waking up and not knowing where I’m at,” Robinson said.

Robinson said prayers of many people helped in his recovery.

Dr. Rajendre Padhye said he had three other patients with the same issue who were also going home that day, an event that brings joy to all the caregivers.

Robinson is now counting every blessing and ready to make up all the quality time he missed with loved ones.
