The Workshop Content Studios in Radnor is named in tribute to founder Tom Farrell’s father, Frank, writes Michael Bradley for Main Line Today.

At his father’s workshop they could rely on getting things fixed.

Today, The Workshop and its crew of 10 tell authentic stories.

“I like to stay true to … stories that make a difference in people’s lives. That may not be some people’s favorite programming, but I love doing that.”

His production company has produced successful TV shows for the likes of Amazon, Netflix, CBS, Discovery and the Golf Channel.

Farrell, a Monsignor Bonner alum and Villanova graduate, founded The Workshop with Steve Rotfeld after eight years at Banyan Productions, which created the TLC show Trading Spaces.

Among The Workshop’s projects was 2019’s “Basketball or Nothing”, which documented a high school basketball team on a Navajo reservation in Arizona.

His 2008 story, “The Haney Project” was the highest rated non-tournament show on the Golf Channel.

He’s also  producing a documentary on Father Bill Atkinson, the renowned Augustinian who was paralyzed from the neck down.

“We could’ve headed to Hollywood, but we’re Delco people—and we love it here”, Farrell said.
