Popular jewelry designer Steven Lagos recognized early on that jewelry is the most personal piece of art someone can have.

That sentiment is especially true on Valentine’s Day.

“Every woman has a story about where and when she received a special piece of jewelry, even if she purchased it for herself,” he said in an interview with Fabiola Cineas for Philadelphia Magazine.

“For us, the Valentine’s Day season is … about the love in your life. The love you have for your mother, your sister, your significant other and yourself,” he said. “My goal is to create something she has never seen before and can’t live without.”

Steve Lagos grew up in Newtown Square and Wayne. He launched his fine-jewelry brand at age 19. Today, LAGOS is know world-wide iconic styles like its Caviar collections.

The designs are sculpted, highly textured pieces combining sterling silver, 18-karat gold and diamonds.
