Dogs of Villanova: Maggie the Goldendoodle from Pals for Life
Wednesdays are dog days at Villanova University, when the non-profit Pals for Life visits the campus with a group of four-legged friends to help students de-stress, writes Olivia Sabalaskey in the Dogs of Villanova column for The Villanovan.
These certified stress-therapy dogs are particularly appreciated with mid-term exams just around the corner.
Featured dog this time around is Maggie, a Pals for Life volunteer, a 10-year-old Goldendoodle who has worked as a therapy dog for almost eight years.
During her time off, Maggie runs around her backyard, chasing squirrels. She may go for long walks with her owner in the early morning.
She loves her job as a therapy dog, but also enjoys taking a break with long naps in the afternoon.
Students admire Maggie for her loving and sweet personality.
“She is such a sweetheart,” a student observed, “and she loves to smile,” said one of the Pals for Life volunteers.
Maggie is a very composed girl and does not like to bark often.
She displays good manners, shaking hands with almost every student she meets.
She sometimes can be found playing in the rain or just sitting outside.
