A Prospect Holdings legal reprieve for nine months will give the company time to find a buyer for the Crozer Health system.

Crozer-Keystone Health System in Delaware County will become part of Cigna’s Medicare Advantage provider network, writes John George for Philadelphia Business Journal.

The two entered into an agreement last Thursday, providing health care professionals at Crozer-Keystone with greater resources and aligned-incentives to deliver quality patient care.

“Crozer-Keystone has an excellent reputation for providing its community with a full continuum of care,” said Tom Kowalczyk, Medicare Advantage Market Manager for Cigna’s Mid-Atlantic and Pennsylvania (MA-PA) region. “Cigna’s partnership with Crozer-Keystone will expand the number of high-quality, cost-effective health care options available to our customers in this area.”

The new arrangement is effective immediately, applying to customers in Cigna’s Medicare Advantage plans in Delaware and Chester counties in Pennsylvania and New Castle County in Delaware.

Crozer-Keystone, owned by California-based Prospect Medical Holdings Inc., is the largest health care provider in Delaware County.

It is the parent company for Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland, Taylor Hospital in Ridley Park, Springfield Hospital in Springfield, and Delaware County Memorial Hospital in Drexel Hill.

The health system also includes two surgery centers, an urgent care facility and a behavioral health campus along with hundreds of network physician and other outpatient care offices.
