Upper Darby Stays Affordable in Rents Compared to Other Philadelphia Suburban Communities

Upper Darby retains its affordability compared to other suburbs in the Philadelphia Metro area. The    average rent charged here is $909, according to rentcafe.com.

In October 2019, Upper Darby rents increased by $7 compared to September and $53 compared to October 2018.

Drexel Hill is the second cheapest place for renters, with an average rent of $1,095. However, it marks a large spike in costs compared to October last year: $101.

Average rents in Philadelphia reached $1,652 in October. They gained an extra $10 compared to the previous month, and added $80 since the same time last year.

King of Prussia rents have decreased by $14 since September, reaching an average of $1,617. They are also $16 cheaper than October 2018.

Levittown marks the largest month-over-month increase in the area: $16, as the average rent here reached $1,294. It also registered the largest increase since October last year: $104.

In October, apartment rents flat lined in 95 percent of the largest 260 US cities.

October apartment rents in the US are slowly picking up pace, despite the brief respite that was the previous month. The national average rent reached $1,476.
