The Foundation for Delaware County has launched its second competitive grant-making cycle and has posted a formal Request for Proposals (RFP) on its website www.delcofoundation.org.

Letters of intent will be due online on July 26, 2019 and organizations will be notified Aug. 19, 2019 if they are selected to submit a full proposal. Invited proposals are due online Oct. 14, 2019 with awards to  be announced in March 2020.

An open information session will take place July 10, 2019 from 2 to 4 p.m., at Penn State Brandywine. Registration is required. Interested applicants should visit the foundation’s website to register: delcofoundation.org/apply-for-a-grant/.

The grants awarded will advance the Foundation’s goals to improve the health and quality

of life of children and families in Delaware County. The Foundation plans to award grants in this year’s funding cycle in the following program areas:

  • Economic Stability
  • Education
  • Health and Healthcare
  • Neighborhood and Built Environment

The Foundation for Delaware County will award grants of up to $100,000 per year to nonprofit, government, and education agencies working in the priority program areas listed above.

A limited number of multi-year grants will be awarded. Preference will be given to agencies located in the county as well as to agencies which address the needs of the most vulnerable populations. That includes families living in poverty, immigrants and non-English speakers.

All grant proceeds must be used to provide programs and services in Delaware County.

Types of proposals that will be considered include: core operating support, program or project support, capacity building, advocacy and awareness, and capital expenditures.

Organizations may submit only one proposal and for up to three years of funding, though the maximum total awarded per agency will be $100,000.
