Dunwoody Village – a continuing care retirement community in Newtown Square that offers residents unparalleled comfort, award-winning healthcare and rehabilitation, and a vibrant lifestyle – has received a $15,519.56 grant from the Philadelphia Foundation.

The grant was made from the foundation’s John B. Gest Memorial Fund, the William P. Gest Memorial Fund No. 2, the Lillian Gest Memorial Fund, and the Isabel Howell Gest Memorial Fund No. 2.

One of the oldest and largest community foundations in the United States, the Philadelphia Foundation has a century-long history of connecting community-minded individuals with the people and organizations that are helping to build a greater region. With deep relationships in the community and intimate knowledge of local nonprofits, it collaborates with individuals, families, and businesses to magnify charitable and philanthropic impact.

A not-for-profit organization established in 1974, Dunwoody Village is dedicated to making its community a beautiful, relaxed, fun, and healthy place to live. It will use the grant for general operating support.

“On behalf of the Dunwoody Village Board of Directors, administration, and residents, I extend a heartfelt thanks to the Philadelphia Foundation and the Gest Family Memorial Fund for the continued support of village programming at Dunwoody,” said Sherry Smyth, Dunwoody Village’s President and CEO. “The generous gift exemplifies the Philadelphia Foundation’s and the Gest Family Memorial Fund’s commitment to Dunwoody Village and the community.”
