Garnet Valley High School graduate and Villanova University offensive tackler Brandon Hitner has signed with Los Angeles Rams as an unrestricted free agent, writes Terry Toohey for Delaware County Daily Times.

“This truly is a dream come true,” said Hitner. “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

The Springfield native was an All-Central League and All-Delco Honorable Mention selection as a senior at Garnet Valley. He also won the Rotary Club Award and earned varsity letters for both football and basketball.

Once he moved up to college football, it took the 6-6, 300-pound Hitner several years to earn playing time with the Wildcats.

He finally was accepted into the team in 2014, but he sat out his first year as a redshirt. The following season he managed to get some limited playing time, and in 2016 he played in seven games.

However, once he moved into the starting lineup as a redshirt junior, he became a fixture with the team. In 2017, he started all 11 games and last year he started eight of 11.  The three games he had to sit out were due to injury.
