Ridley High School graduate Marcie Reilly is the co-founder of an app that simplifies wedding planning by matching couples with vendors, writes Rachel Abbey McCafferty for Crain’s Cleveland Business.

Reilly started Flutter Social with Kaleigh Gallagher after they met at Cleveland Clinic Innovations. The pair saw an opportunity to improve the wedding planning process by connecting couples with vendors using factors such as style, values, and networks.

Flutter Social was launched in the Philadelphia area three years ago and has now expanded to Cleveland. Philadelphia was chosen since Reilly is a local and because its many vendors also serve Delaware, New Jersey, and New York.

The platform started by building a network of area vendors and providing personal recommendations to its users. This helped to develop the smart algorithm it now uses.

Now, couples fill out their wedding requirements, including budget, number of guests, and type of vendors. They can also specify if they want a modern or romantic event and any particular business values they want from a vendor.

Then, the platform connects them with vendors that suit their needs and also shows them which businesses like to work together.
