With indoor rock climbing on the rise, gyms that cater to the sport, like Gravity Vault in Radnor, are now in high demand, writes Caroline Cunningham for Philadelphia magazine.

Interest in rock climbing spans the globe. The indoor version will debut as an Olympic sport in the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo. This has made people across the region and the world even more eager to give it a try.

Gravity Vault has been giving people that opportunity since 2017. The gym is a part of a chain, with locations in New Jersey and New York. The Radnor facility, at 175 King of Prussia Road, offers visitors more than 100 different rope stations and 4,000 square feet of bouldering, all within its 16,000-square-foot space. The monthly membership fee is $64.50.

The gym has been so successful that the chain is now planning to open an additional location in Philadelphia.
