Leo’s Steak Shop in Folcroft reopened its doors to customers this week after a car crashed into the store’s front in October, writes Kevin Tustin for the Daily Times.

Judging by the number of phoned-in and walk-up orders for its 10 AM reopening, the eatery was truly missed.

For the last three months, Timothy Bullock, one of the steak shop’s regular patrons, did not get a sandwich from any other place.

“There’s nobody who makes a better cheesesteak or hoagie than Leo’s,” he said.

Leo’s owner Steve Mullan was touched by all the support both he and the store received.

“I never realized how much of an impact that steaks and hoagies could have on people’s lives,” he said.

Mullan knew there was huge interest in the reopening. When he posted it on the business’s Facebook page, he received hundreds of likes and comments within hours.

Reopening was not easy, as Mullan had to find a structural engineer and deal with insurance and numerous delays.

However, interest in the reopened shop also helped him decide to expand into the accompanying apartment on the first floor. He hopes to finalize the expansion by the end of the year.
