Media native Lenore Diamond, the Managing Director of Airport Affairs at American Airlines, is helping the world’s largest airline stay ahead, writes Korri Kezar for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Diamond manages relationships at airports in Miami and Charlotte and hubs in Europe, Canada, and Asia. As part of her job, she ensures that every American Airlines employee is given an opportunity to be heard.

“There’s so much wisdom and experience across the team that can be harnessed,” she said. “We just have to listen.”

Diamond was recently recognized with a Minority Business Leader Award from the Dallas Business Journal for her work. But while she acknowledges that the business environment in North Texas for minorities has grown significantly since she moved there nearly two decades ago, she believes there is still room for improvement.

“I’m hopeful that businesses will continue to recognize the strength and competitive advantage that a diverse workforce brings to an organization,” she said.

Diamond also draws inspiration in life and work from her mother, whom she says set incredibly high standards for herself.

“I hope to leave as lasting a legacy as she did,” said Diamond.
