Tom McGarrigle the Unanimous Choice to Lead Delaware County Republican Party

Tom McGarrigle

The Delaware County Republican Party found its new chairman in Tom McGarrigle, who was picked unanimously by 400 GOP committee members to lead the county’s 162,182 registered Republicans, writes Kathleen Carey for the Daily Times.

McGarrigle, who owns a gas station in Springfield and recently lost his re-election campaign for the state Senate, was the only person nominated.

“With your support and your hard work and getting out the message that we need to deliver that the Delaware county Republicans provide good government,” said McGarrigle, “we will deliver.”

McGarrigle will replace Andrew Reilly, who announced his plans to leave the chairman position after he became the head of the Southeast Pennsylvania Republican Caucus in December. Reilly has headed the party for almost a decade.

McGarrigle said that one of his goals is to reach out to younger GOP voters. He will also expand the party’s social media presence and improve communication at both the county and local party levels.
