Delco’s Theaters Welcome You with Open Arms This Holiday Season

As Destination Delco, the county’s tourism bureau, noted with its list of the Top 10 Places to Visit and Things to Do in the area this holiday season, the county is renowned for its outstanding theater scene, particularly during this time of year.

Today, Dec. 8, at 2 PM, the Upper Darby Summer Stage Shooting Stars will perform a Holiday Spectacular at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center. Watch your favorite holiday numbers performed by extremely talented young people in sparkling costumes, with festive music, on a creative set.

‘Tis the season for magic, family, and fun as the beauty and pure joy of The Nutcracker comes alive once again at the beautiful 300-seat Fred P. Meagher Theatre at Neumann University as International Ballet Classique presents two full length performances on Dec. 9 and 10 at 2 PM.

Jack Frost Saves Christmas, a children’s holiday favorite, is running through Dec. 30 at Media Theatre with shows every Sunday at noon. Another family favorite that’s also garnering standing ovations at Media Theatre is The Wizard of Oz, which runs through mid-January.

Hedgerow Theatre’s beautiful rustic atmosphere is the perfect backdrop for Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. Families travel from far and wide to make beloved production, now in its 26th year, a part of their family tradition. A Christmas Carol runs through Dec. 24.
