The Criminal Justice Department of Neumann University is holding a free program on Internet Safety and Cybersecurity on Tuesday, Oct. 9 from 6:30-8 PM in the Multipurpose Hall of the Mullen Communications Center.

According to Kristen Acosta, a Criminal Justice instructor at Neumann, the program is “open to all community members who want to learn about keeping children safe” in today’s digital environment.

In recognition of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, a panel of experts with local and federal law enforcement agencies will answer questions from the audience:

• Jason Swan is a Secret Service Ambassador in partnership with the National Center of Missing and Exploited Children.
• Michelle Rotella is Chief of General Crimes and Project Safe Childhood Coordinator with the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
• Ken Bellis serves as Detective Sergeant in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Delaware County District Attorney’s Office and is Second Commander of the Internet Crimes against Children unit.
• Rosemarie Vesci is a Special Agent for Federal Bureau of Investigation in the Violent Crimes and Crimes Against Children division.

Parking on campus is free, and light refreshments will be served before the program.Neumann University offers an undergraduate BA degree in Criminal Justice (with a Police Academy option) and will launch a BS in Cybersecurity in the fall of 2019.
