After more than six decades, I-95 in Pennsylvania has finally linked to its stretch in New Jersey, writes Jason Laughlin for the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The newly completed part will alleviate at least some of the issues drivers in southeastern Pennsylvania have had to deal with. These include the confusing lack of connections along I-95, the Pennsylvania Turnpike, and I-295, all of which overlap in Bucks County.

While there is still work to be done to link all three highways, at least one link to the Turnpike will soon be available.

“We can finally say it’s done,” said Jay Roth, senior program manager for the chief contractor, Jacobs Engineering Group, “and that’s something to be proud of.”

The $450 million investment is only one of the projects for this junction. There are also plans to make it possible to go northbound on I-95 and exit to the westbound Pennsylvania Turnpike directly, along with other changes. However, it still needs to find the additional $450 million required.
