New Study Ranks Local Colleges by Value

Niche.com has published its rankings of the Best Value Colleges in Greater Philadelphia, a list that focus on what a degree from each school can do for a student’s future career and earning potential, writes Clara Lefton for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Some of the factors taken into account were average earnings two and six years after graduation, student-faculty ratio, and student surveys on value.

The top spot in the Philadelphia area was taken by Penn, which also placed 10th nationwide.

Villanova placed second in the region and 32nd in the nation. Its neighbors, Swarthmore College and Haverford College ranked third and fourth, while Widener and Bryn Mawr College are 13th and 14th, respectively.

West Chester University checked in at No. 15, with Penn State Brandywine at No. 20 and Neumann University at No. 22.

Cabrini and Eastern rounded out the Top 25 at 24th and 25th, respectively.
