Actor Kane Hodder, famous for his portrayal of Jason Voorhees in the popular Friday the 13th movie franchise, was recently spotted at Upper Darby Jail and in a nearby bar, writes Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia magazine.

Hodder was in town to shoot scenes inside the jail and at Busty’s Tavern on West Chester Pike for Room 9, an indie horror film directed by Upper Darby native Tom Walton.

The movie also stars Michael Berryman, whose movies include One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, and Brian Anthony Wilson, the veteran stage and screen actor from Philadelphia.

Walton described the movie as a troublesome story about a family.

“There’s a murder in the 1970s that gets swept under the rug,” he said. “Forty years later, the secrets of the family come back to haunt them.”

The movie is the directorial debut for Walton. He is hoping to have the trailer ready for Halloween and a release next year, either through Netflix or in theaters.

“With Kane Hodder and the other cast I have, and the great story, this is definitely going to get a release,” Walton said.
