Foundation for Delaware County Elects New Board Members

The Foundation for Delaware County, a nonprofit with a mission to build a healthy community and encourage philanthropy in Delaware County, has elected two new officers and two new board members.

Robert N. Speare, Esq., was recently named chair of the foundation’s board. He succeeds Robert J. Bruce, the retired president of Widener University who served as founding chair of the board from 2016-18.

Pennsylvania Common Pleas Court Judge Dominic Pileggi, former Republican leader of the Pennsylvania Senate and mayor of the city of Chester, was named vice chair.

Peters, a Bryn Mawr resident, is chairman and CEO of the Bluestone Financial Institutions Fund and the former chairman and CEO of Bryn Mawr Bank Corporation and The Bryn Mawr Trust Company. He served on the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia from 2009-14. He chaired the audit committee of that bank for two years and concurrently served on the Committee of Federal Reserve Audit Chairs in Washington, D.C.

Peters has served on the boards of numerous nonprofit, educational, and trade associations, including the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers, Main Line Health, Rosemont College, and the Bryn Mawr Film Institute.

Strine, a Rose Valley resident, is an attorney and former executive director/producer of Rockwell Productions at The Media Theatre for the Performing Arts. More recently, she has served as a board member for numerous organizations, including The Ethel Sergeant Clark Smith Foundation, Opera Philadelphia, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, Widener University Delaware Law School Overseers, and the Brandywine Convention and Visitors Bureau.
