Anthony “Tony” Iacone – a Chester native and the owner of K&I Associates, an insurance brokerage based in Aston – has self-published a novel entitled Mario, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Delaware County News Network.

The book, recently released through Page Publishing, focuses on the title character, a second-generation Italian-American born and raised in an ethnic South Philadelphia neighborhood. His desire is to be a leader, but he spends most of his time doing things other people expect him to do.

“Mario is the fictional story of a guy who really doesn’t want to be who he is,” said Iacone, a resident of Bethel Township. “Once in a while he gets lucky, but then something crazy happens again to him to cause a setback.”

However, said Iacone, he survives all the lows in his life by never giving up, which leads him to a life-changing resolution.

Iacone said it took him a long time to finish the book, as the character continued evolving over time.
