From CHESCO: AAA World Magazine Highlights West Chester as Great Destination for Weekend Getaway

By

West Chester’s national profile continues to grow.

After earning accolades like “Great American Main Street” and “Best Place to Live,” the borough was recently highlighted by Theresa Gawlas Medoff for AAA World magazine as a destination spot for anyone wanting a great weekend away.

Once known as Turk’s Head after the inn that served travelers through the area dating back to 1762, West Chester is now known for its shopping, dining, rich history, and nearby attractions.

Throughout the town are historic buildings designed by Thomas U. Walter, the fourth architect of Washington, D.C. These include the historic 1848 Courthouse and the Horticultural Hall, part of the Chester County Historical Society Museum.

For a quick bite, there are numerous shops and eateries, including Eclat Chocolate and Pietro’s Prime, famous for its mouthwatering steak sandwiches. For outdoor activities, be sure not to miss the exotic Longwood Gardens, including the fountain shows at the Main Fountain Garden.

To relax after touring the sights, why not grab a cocktail and some live music at Bar AV or The Social Lounge. Then you can retire to a room at Hotel Warner.

Whatever you decide on, you can be sure to be welcomed with the spirit and warmth that is the trademark of this charismatic town.
