A new P.J. Whelihan’s Pub and Restaurant has opened on West Chester Pike in Newtown Square, writes Kenneth Hilario for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The newly renovated, 7,000-square-foot space was formerly occupied by the 3 West Restaurant & Bar in the Edgemont Shopping Center. The restaurant will have a private party room, a patio, and will feature 52 television screens.

Other tenants in the shopping center include a Giant supermarket, a Regal Cinema, and a Starbucks.

Prior to its opening, the restaurant was looking to hire 80 year-round, front- and back-of-the-house employees.

The new P.J. Whelihan’s is the 21st eatery opened in the Philadelphia region by the P.J.W. Restaurant Group of Haddon Township, N.J. The company also owns and operates The Pour House, The Chophouse, and Treno Pizza Bar.

Last September, the restaurant group opened its 20th restaurant, also a P.J. Whelihan’s, in Malvern.
