Rick Steves

Widener University will welcome Rick Steves to campus on Monday, Feb. 26.

The popular author, television host, and European travel guide will lead a compelling conversation with students, faculty, and staff, followed by a Q&A with the audience.

Steves – who will speak from 1-2 PM at the Webb Room in Widener’s University Center – has written more than 50 European travel books, and hosted more than 100 travel shows for public television and radio.

Through his work, Steves encourages Americans to travel as “temporary locals” and helps travelers to connect much more intimately and authentically with Europe — and Europeans — for a fraction of what mainstream tourists pay.

Steves is also a newspaper columnist with the Tribune Media Services, and an active blogger on social media platforms.

Steves’ appearance on campus will coincide with his conversation in the Philadelphia Speaker Series scheduled for Monday evening at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia.
