Misty Solomon, the owner of Devour Desserts in Aston’s Valley View Plaza Shopping Center, has long awaited the launch of her new bakery at the former location of Viso’s Authentic Italian Desserts, writes Peg DeGrassa for the Delaware County News Network.
Solomon painted the shop fuchsia and white, giving the 3,500-square-foot space a new look and style. This will be Solomon’s second location. Her first Devour Desserts is in Mantua, N.J.
Devour Desserts is known for its butter cakes in assorted flavors, cupcakes stuffed with truffle fillings, its unique creations, and anything and everything chocolate.

Along with her handcrafted product line, Solomon hopes to incorporate some specialties missed by former customers of Viso’s. Anthony Viso, who recently retired, operated the popular Viso’s Authentic Italian Desserts at the site from December 2008 until September of this year.
“Anthony is coming in this week to teach me how to make his cannoli, Italian cookies, and maybe some of his other amazing recipes,” Solomon said.
She used to carry Viso’s cannoli at her shop in Mantua. Picking up her order last summer is how she discovered the shop was available for lease.
