Delaware County is home to three of the 25 Most Expensive Private Schools in Pennsylvania, writes Candy Woodall for the Harrisburg Patriot-News.

The yearly tuition that the newspaper used to rank the schools includes boarding costs where applicable and does not reflect financial aid or other discounts that may be available to students.

The following are the trio of Delco schools, preceded by their rank among the state’s most expensive, and followed by their annual tuition in parentheses:

  • 12. Hill Top Prep ($41,600)
  • 13. The Haverford School ($38,000)
  • 19. Agnes Irwin ($35,500)

The Episcopal Academy in Newtown Square was not on the list. Tuition there, from Pre-K to eighth grade, ranges from $23,175 to $31,230. Tuition for grades 9-12, though, is listed at $34,095, which would’ve placed it at No. 23.

Mercersburg Academy in Franklin County tops the list with an annual price tag of $56,350, slightly more than The Hill School in Montgomery County.
