Throughout its 50-year history, Swiss Farms, headquartered in Broomall, has always worked hard to balance growth with maintaining its outstanding reputation, writes Angela Hanson for Convenience Store News.

The small Delaware County chain has used its strengths to build an enthusiastic and loyal customer base for its signature drive-through markets that have managed to sustain it for five decades.

The 13-store chain became a household name in the region by combining the speed and convenience of its drive-through design and its wide range of grocery items.

A significant part of the store’s evolution has been the development of its fresh food program. This allows Swiss Farms to self-distribute food, ensuring that all stores receive fresh products six days a week, which has boosted its popularity.

Now, with the semi-centennial quickly approaching, Swiss Farms is looking to improve and grow in the future. This has been strengthened with the arrival of its new president and CEO, Scott Simon, nearly a year ago.

“We’ve been in business for almost 50 years, and there’s something to be said about that,” said Jaclyn Daley, Director of Marketing. “We have a really loyal following in this area.”
