Interboro Music Teacher Hits the Right Note

By

Hannah Knauss

She’s only a few years into her music teaching career, and Hannah Knauss of the Interboro School District is already hitting the right notes with students, administrators, and peers.

Knauss just won the 2017 Outstanding Young Music Educator Award from the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association, according to a Ridley Town Talk report by Kevin Tustin.

“It’s really neat that at the high school level … we can acknowledge our teachers that go above and beyond what they do just inside the classroom,” said Interboro High School Principal Ryan Johnston.

Knauss is a four-year music educator who not only teaches at Interboro but also choral groups in the Marple Newtown School District.

“Each day I see and hear the power of music,” Knauss said. “It challenges students, it supports students, and serves as an academic outlet when other subjects become too much to bear. What an honor it is to be a part of that each day.”
