The Edge Accelerator, an innovative small business incubator in Delaware County, was recently introduced by the Delaware County Council to advance small business opportunities in the county.

Entrepreneurs and small business owners obtain free counseling and business education services at the Edge Accelerator. SCORE, an organization of highly skilled business volunteers and a Small Business Administration (SBA) partner, provides the experienced mentors for the Edge Accelerator.

Companies are encouraged to apply for membership to the Edge Accelerator. SCORE and representatives from the Delaware County Commerce Center and HeadRoom review all applicants for acceptance, and all members of the Edge Accelerator receive one year of free space at HeadRoom, a co-working incubator with locations in Media and Wayne.

Chester and Delaware County SCORE is a non-profit organization that provides free counseling to entrepreneurs and small business. It has more than 100 experienced counselors with expertise in almost every facet of business. Of the more than 300 SCORE chapters across the nation, the Chester and Delaware County chapter was named “Best Chapter in America” in 2015.

The chapter also teaches more than 50 seminars and workshops. Their recently introduced Advisory Boards were created to help existing businesses grow.
