Chadds Ford’s Triple R Transportation is taking full advantage of the rapid increase in craft breweries across the country, a trend that is providing opportunities for companies that specialize in support operations for them, writes Alan Field for Breakbulk magazine.
The heavy haul firm, which focuses on providing transporting and logistics services for oversized cargo, handled numerous brewing tank shipments last year for some of the largest craft breweries around the country. The company is often asked in advance of the largest-sized tank it can feasibly deliver.
Triple R is tasked with getting the tanks to them once the tanks have reached the closest port to each brewing facility from its country of origin, usually Germany. However, routing is often the biggest challenge with some unorthodox solutions required for the larger loads.
“Triple R is very concentrated in the heavy haul industry, and the beer sector is one of its niches, based on our knowledge about how to do these tanks,” said Brett Robbins, Vice President of Triple R.
