Located in Media, Penn State Brandywine offers students a range of knowledge and skills as they prepare for careers in the global arena. With more than 160 Penn State majors that can be started at Penn State Brandywine and completed at University Park or another Penn State location, Brandywine offers 12 baccalaureate degrees, 11 minors, Associate’s Degrees, and a variety of special programs that can be completed in Media.

Assistant Director of Student Activities

This position is responsible for the development and coordination of cultural, social, recreational, and educational student programming. He/she leads initiatives with a focus on student involvement and engagement in student life on campus and within the community. Job duties include coordinating student programming, and attending national conferences, including NACA, APCA, and NCSL. The person will also advise the Student Programming Board (BEAST) and coordinate logistics for campus events, including social marketing.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master’s Degree, and have work-related experience in student activities programming and coordination. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

Administrative Support Assistant

This position reports to the Assistant Director of Academic Affairs and provides administrative support to the Assistant Director and faculty located within the work area. Primary responsibilities include assisting in various campus events, including academic recognition, faculty workshops, and completing routine administrative tasks. He/she will prepare documents, compose written correspondence, and serve on committees, as well as process time cards and reconcile purchasing cards.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of related experience, including database experience. This position handles confidential information and correspondence, such as student evaluations, and he/she must be able to use discretion in carrying out assigned duties. The person must possess excellent attention to detail, have a customer service background, and be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
