Entrepreneurs with plans for startups in the Greater Philadelphia area will get a chance to pitch their idea and possibly win $100,000 in funding when the Rise of the Rest bus tour makes a stop in Philadelphia, writes Jared Lindzon for Fast Company.

The tour to promote startup ecosystems is the brainchild of serial entrepreneur and AOL co-founder Steve Case. The bus will be making its stop in Philadelphia on Sept. 29.

During its first 14 stops, the tour has already dished out $1.5 million to promising startups. Now, Case’s firm Revolution, together with partners that include Google for Entrepreneurs and Salesforce for Startups, have committed to investing another $1 million for the second leg of the journey.

“They reached out to us, and we were very excited,” said Archna Sahay, manager of entrepreneurial investment for the City of Philadelphia. “We’re hoping that we’ll leave a very fond impression, and this will certainly not be the last time Steve and his team visit Philadelphia.”
