VWR, a global supplier of laboratory products, has acquired JM Separations, the fifth firm bought by the Radnor-based company in the past two years, writes John George of the Philadelphia Business Journal.

JM Separations is based in The Netherlands and supplies single-use fluid handling and separation technology products for pharmaceutical and biotech companies. Most of its customers are in Europe.

According to George, financial terms of the deal were not released.

Manuel Brocke-Benz, president and CEO of VWR, indicated that the deal will broaden his company’s single-use product and service offerings.

Since 2015, VWR has purchased:

  • Purification Technologies Inc., a Connecticut-based specialty solvent company that performs high volume purification services.
  • Hichrom Ltd., a British company that develops and markets equipment used to separate, identify, and quantify the components in a mixture.
  • National Biochemicals, an Ohio-based raw material manufacturer and supplier.
  • Therapak Corp. and Therapak Pharma Services Ltd., international suppliers of pre-packaged convenience kits and procedure packs for the clinical trial, pharmaceutical, diagnostic, and clinical-laboratory industries.
