The Collins Companies – one of the largest industrial distributors of engineered specialties, pipe, valves, and fittings serving the Northeast – is ready to move into a facility in Aston.

Based in East Windsor, Connecticut, The Collins Companies now have nine locations, primarily in New England and upstate New York.

Its new home in the Philadelphia suburbs is located at 2939 Dutton Mill Road.

“Back in 2013, Collins acquired Apex Remington Pipe and Supply and agreed to lease its current facility in Marcus Hook,” said owner and president Brian Tuohey. “While we familiarized ourselves with this new market, we properly planned the right size and scope of its eventual permanent home.”

The sale closed in the beginning of March, and since then, contractors have been renovating the facility into a distribution center with a newly created two-acre paved and fenced pipe yard.

“This operation has grown nicely for us over the last two years, so when the facility on Dutton Mill Road in Aston came on the market, it fit our needs perfectly to service our current business levels,” Tuohey said. “But most importantly, it allowed us the opportunity to satisfy our future anticipated growth. I am very pleased with the performance of our team in Marcus Hook, and I’m thrilled to recognize and celebrate their success with this well-deserved new home.”

The Collins Companies has been recognized for its service in key markets such as Power, OEM, and MRO contract management. It combines technology with service by offering four fully staffed valve automation centers, onsite valve and actuator repair services, and a full range of engineering support.
