These Two Local Attractions Ranked in the Region’s Top Tourist Destinations of 2023

Chester County attractions are being lauded on the Philadelphia Business Journal’s top tourist destinations list. Over 20 million people visited notable sites across the Greater Philadelphia region in 2022.   

Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square ranked in sixth place on the list with over 1.6 million visitors. The botanical splendor brings beauty to Chester County year-round. The Festival of Fountains is currently on view now. The aquatic spectacle comprises of over 1,719 jets in an open-air theater with music and lights.   

Number 28 on the list was the National Iron & Steel Heritage Museum in Coatesville bringing in 2,770 visitors in 2022. The museum spotlights the history of steelmaking. It’s a project of the Graystone Society as part of its goal to exhibit historical materials to educate the Delaware Valley public.   

Other Philadelphia attractions that made the top spot were Reading Terminal Market, Independence National Historical Park, and nearby Peddler’s Village.
