In Lansdowne, median home prices have jumped 17.8 percent in the past year, above wage growth. Rents average $1,525 monthly, above the national median of $1,400.
Residents are paying 15 to 20 percent more for essentials like eggs, milk, and bread than a year ago.
“I used to spend $100 a week on groceries. Now it’s closer to $150 for the same items,” Brianna said. “Something has to give, and unfortunately, that means cutting back on things we used to enjoy.”
Gas prices and utility bills are also up over last year.
