After 20 years, Delaware County Community College’s Southeast Center located in Sharon Hill will be closing its doors six months earlier than originally planned, writes the Daily Times.
The center was supposed to continue operating normally throughout 2025. Unfortunately, due to its building lease not being extended, the center will be closing on June 30.
The 324 students currently attending the center will be able to close out their 2025 Spring Semester in the Sharon Hill location.
Thankfully, those classes aren’t being terminated. Students will be able to continue taking courses starting with the college’s Summer I Session at the DCCC Upper Darby Center.
The free shuttle service will also remain available for students throughout the year to take from the Sharon Hill Center to the Upper Darby Center and from there to Marple Campus.
The college announced that current faculty and staff from Sharon Hill will be temporarily relocated to either the Marple Campus or the Upper Darby Center, before eventually transitioning to the new Southeast Center located in Drexel Hill.
“The college enjoyed 20 successful years in Sharon Hill, and we are grateful to have had the opportunity to serve students there for so long,” said DCCC President, Dr. Marta Yera Cronin.
