A New Cafe and Co-Working Space is Coming Soon to Old City
Sunday Girl, a new relaxing and cozy cafe and co-working space, will soon open its doors in Old City, writes Jason Sheehan for Philadelphia Magazine.
The new space is the brainchild of Becca Grites, who has years of experience managing and working in small establishments and has always loved working Sunday shifts for its slower, more chill services that allow more opportunity for her to get to know, communicate, and make connections with her customers.
“Sunday Girl embodies a home-away-from-home in the heart of the city,” said Grites. “I know from experience that the person behind the bar sets the tone for making a new place into a new favorite place. … I’ve always relished being any bar’s ‘Sunday Girl.’”
Her dream is to create an eco-conscious, locally-focused neighborhood cafe that brings Sunday vibes every day of the week.
There will also be a dedicated, membership-only co-working space for creatives, artists, and work-from-home individuals looking for somewhere else to work.
“This place not only speaks to my values as a person, but speaks to my beliefs on giving back to and being a part of the unique community that is Philly,” said Grites.
She is hoping for a March opening.
