Meridian Bank supported the Paoli Hospital Foundation as the Title Sponsor for the 2024 Paoli Hospital Golf Classic. The event took place on May 16 at Applebrook Golf Club (100 Line Road, Malvern) with a full course of golfers and sold-out sponsorships.

Proceeds from the Golf Classic benefitted the Paoli Hospital Inpatient Room Expansion — 3 South. Compared to pre-pandemic volumes, Paoli Hospital is seeing a 20 percent increase in annual visits (over 8,000 more patients) to its ED and a 37 percent increase in average census in the medical, surgical, and intensive care units.

Ultimately, this equates to just over 50 patients needing a hospital room each day. The expansion of 3 South will function as a relief valve to the overcrowded hospital by providing the facilities and staff needed to deliver the care patients deserve. Two of the rooms will be equipped for patients of size, which necessitates distinctive equipment that affords patients dignity and respect when receiving care in the hospital. Additionally, one of the rooms will be an isolation room with negative air pressure and filtration technology to accommodate a patient with a transmissible, infectious disease.

As a reminder, there will be no Golf Classic in 2025, but the event will resume in Spring 2026 at Applebrook Golf Club.
