The Brandywine Valley Scenic Byway is being lauded for having the most breathtaking views in Pennsylvania, according to a Newsbreak contributor.  

This Chester County track stretches for 12.25 miles. Spectators and travelers can revel at Pennsylvania scenic gems on this hour-long drive. The byway begins in Wilmington, Delaware, and traverses across state lines into Chester County.  

Of the historical sites, tourists can drive through the landscapes where the Battle of Brandywine was fought in 1777. Physical remnants are visible on the byway, including the John Chads House, the Birmingham Meeting House, and the Gilpin House.  

In addition to relics from the battle, drivers, and passengers can also see landmarks associated with the Underground Railroad. The Longwood Progressive Friends Meetinghouse, for example, was where abolitionists such as Frederick Douglass co-mingled.  

The Brandywine Valley is popular for its culturally rich community, many of its landscapes are depicted in iconic paintings, by the likes of Andrew Wyeth. It is home to the Brandywine River Museum of Art, and the popular Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square, the mushroom capital of the world.
