Pennsylvania is the 23rd most economical state in the U.S. relating to cost of living as of 2022, according to the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center, making it one of most desirable places to live for anyone of any age. However, there are a few areas that beat out the rest for the best places to live for 55 and older, writes Aima Zaheer for Insider Monkey.

Chester County is already known for having the best place to live in the nation — Chesterbrook — so it’s no surprise that there are some great towns to move to if you’re age 55 and above.

Insider Monkey used nine different factors to determine what makes the perfect older-age experience. Among these factors are cost of living, average household income, crime rate, average home value, health insurance coverage, and more. Each factor is worth a score of ten for a total score of 90.

Chester County’s borough seat, West Chester, ranked at No. 12 with a score of 22. With its walkability, dense amount of restaurants, nearness to Chester County Hospital, and rich history, this town is one of the best places to live.
